Exploring the Ang/Tie pathway in Vascular Stability
Date/Time: Sunday 27th at 12.50pm – 1.10pm (lunch)
Speaker: A/Prof Peter van Wijngaarden
Summary: In retinal diseases, the evolution of anti-VEGF therapies has significantly contributed to improvement in patient management and outcomes. Beyond VEGF, there exists an unmet need to understand other pathways involved in maintaining vascular stability, including angiopoietins and their emerging role in the pathophysiology and treatment of retinal and choroidal vascular diseases. A/Prof van Wijngaarden will take us through this educational session to:
- Familiarise with the components of pathways that affect vascular stability and contribute to the pathophysiology of neovascular retinal diseases
- Explore the emerging scientific evidence for the Ang/Tie pathway in the eye
- Discuss investigational Ang/Tie targeting molecules for the treatment of retinal and choroidal vascular diseases
The information contained in this session is intended for Healthcare Professionals (HCP).
