RANZCO acknowledges our First Australians, the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we live and work, and pays respect to Elders past, present and emerging. The Gadigal people of the Eora Nation are the traditional custodians of the land where the RANZCO head office is located. RANZCO also acknowledges the Rangatiratanga of Māori as Tangata Whenua and Treaty of Waitangi partners in Aotearoa New Zealand.

THANK YOU!

Thank you to our nearly 2000 delegates who joined us for RANZCO’s 52nd Virtual Scientific Congress!

We trust you found the past three and a half days educational – not only from the content of the many amazing lectures, but also from adapting to the “new normal” of virtual meetings.

A few distinct benefits of the virtual delivery method:

  • Live chat and live Q&A were used extensively and resulted in high levels of engagement and interactivity
  • Live polling added an exciting real-time feel to lectures
  • All content remains available to you for 90 days. Access content you would not normally see, including the adjacent programs of Orthoptics Australia and RANZCO’s own Practice Manager’s Conference
  • The ease of movement between sessions created a new level of flexibility – no need to storm down corridors to catch the second half of another lecture!

The Congress meets the College target of 35% female representation

Of course, the Congress is not possible without the generous support and partnership of Industry. The scientific program is the considered effort of the Scientific Program Committee and its dedicated Chair, Dr Elsie Chan. The amount of behind-the-scenes work done by Elsie is only rivalled by the work of Think Business Events and their partner, Gliding Wings Productions. In just eight weeks, they worked (endlessly) to produce a near-faultless virtual meeting. Finally, thank you to the RANZCO staff and Board, for leading the way.

The next steps are to bookmark the event platform so you can take advantage of its great content for the next 90 days and add the next two RANZCO Annual Scientific Congresses to your diary:

Friday 28 October to Tuesday 1 November 2022, Brisbane

Friday 20 to Tuesday 24 October 2023, Perth

See you in Brisbane, in person, in October 2022!
